AvtocodBot is the Telegram front-end of Avtocod, one of the longer-running Russian services for checking a used car's history before you buy it. Send it a VIN or a license plate and, according to its own profile, it pulls a report from more than thirteen official sources within about five minutes: accident history, whether the car is pledged as loan collateral, real mileage versus what the odometer shows, registration restrictions, unpaid fines, and even taxi-service trip history where available.

That breadth is the main selling point over a plain GIBDD lookup: a used-car buyer typically has to check three or four separate government registries by hand (traffic police accident records, the notary register of pledged property, the bailiffs' restriction list) to get the same picture, and Avtocod bundles all of it into one chat message. The bot is run directly by Avtocod, so you are dealing with the same company whose full web service is used by dealerships and car-buying guides across Russia, not an anonymous developer.

Like every service in this category, a first look is typically free or very limited, and the full multi-page report is a paid product — this is standard for the industry (the same is true of Avtoteka, CARFAX-style Western services, and every other VIN-history provider) and is not a sign of a scam. Treat any such report as one input among several before a used-car purchase, not a legal guarantee: registries update with a lag, and a clean report does not replace an in-person inspection.
